Shore-Based Ship Management

The Shore-based Ship Management suite of NOS has been designed for occupations such as marine, technical and engineering superintendents, fleet managers and operators.  They cover the following activities:

• employing and managing marine personnel for vessel activities;
• ensuring vessels are procured, maintained, supplied and equipped for service;
• establishing and administering systems to ensure quality and continuity of service;
• safety and security of operations;
• personal and professional management skills to support shipping services.

There are 42 NOS in the suite, nineteen are maritime-specific, plus twenty one from the Management Standards Centre and one from the National Centre for Languages (a diversity unit).
