Safety Awareness Awards
The Chamber of Shipping’s Safety at Sea Awareness Awards competition has been running since the mid-90s.
Every year (usually around March to August) eligible officer trainees and junior ratings are invited to submit an original safety idea capable of being utilised at sea. Individual and college/university cash prizes are awarded at an event in London, usually in October/November.
